Financing Asteriko
Project financement are, most of the time, pretty hard and mainly on open source projects. The idea is not to find money to pay developers but to find a good way to get money back from the investment done by developers.
In telephony many solutions are possible because it is directly linked to valuable services. This way each minutes can be sold in order to refinance further developments. But How is it possible to get money from minutes you don't hold? Indeed, Open telephony softwares are free to use and then it becomes impossible to count and ask any money from this. Using Asteriko can be a solution to this problem. The idea is to provide in the Asteriko GUI an option to connect your installaion to a standard telephony system throught VoIP provider with very competitive rates. Asteriko users traffic can then be collected to these provider and Asteriko project can be paid in proportion of minutes collected to the providers. IAX providers could then even get access to Asteriko users installation to reach their local network using a system of prepaid accound and paypal. The next step is then to find agreement with IAX providers.
