Many database engines are now available on the market. Some of them are proprietary and some of them are free.
The installation processes depend on witch engine you chose to install.

Administration

Every database requires administration. Databases are very often in the center of a company's processes. Indeed, the data stored are linked to the company's customers and for this reasons, data stored in it must be always true and accessible.
To keep databases available few dail, weekly, monthly and why not yearly operations must be done on a database.

Backup/Restore

This operation is of course one of the first step on maintenance operations. In case of trouble, user mistake or any incident, is it compulsory to backup your data in order to be able, at least, to go back at a well known state.
